Airport security... with what cameras?
December 24th's terrorist activity on board Northwestern airlines afforded only 1 picture of the entire activity to the media, and it was from a passenger's camera phone. If you think about the most recent flights you've taken, were there video cameras watching you? The recovery of a "black box" seems so antiquated in today's age of Wi-fi and high tech gadgets. Why not have surveillance cameras on all flights that send packets of footage every 10 minutes or so via satellite to an archive somewhere? Wouldn't this make it so much easier to determine events leading up to plane failures, terrorist activity and other unlikely events?

Year-round holiday christmas lights
I noticed more people putting up purple Christmas lights for halloween, red / white / blue lights for the 4th of July and even multi-colored ones for Thanksgiving. It'd be cool if a company manufactured year-round lights, LED's or fiber optics, that had different settings so they could be different colors. Then, a person could set them to multi-color or red / green on Christmas, and leave them up until they can flip the switch for the next holiday.

Remote Controlled RC Lawnmower
While standing on my deck talking about RC helicopters and airplanes, I had an awful segue into being too lazy to cut the grass. Then it dawned on me, they made the Roomba (remote controlled vacuum), why not apply the same concept to mowing grass? It'd be dangerous so there'd need to be tons of safe guards including remote emergency-off button and bumpers so you don't climb up onto rocks, but slap some outdoor big rubber tires on a covered spinning blade and bam - the lazy, beer drinker's perfect landscaping weapon!!

Thin-client notebook computers for home PC portability
Cloud computing has become a huge ordeal in the IT industry. Some companies are now investing in "thin-clients" they give to their staff, which are basically input/output devices like monitors, keyboards and mice. The actual "computers" are virtualized on servers in another room or off-site. I think they should make laptops that come equipped with just a screen, keyboard, USB ports for mice and peripherals, and a stripped down version of a motherboard / CPU. The theory is the notebook can ONLY be used for Remote Desktop connections. Then it'd need software on the "host" computer that could accept multiple connections without logging off one particular user. My desktop computer at home would have to be "remote connection" capable. Then I'd just use this bare bones laptop to remotely connect to my PC wherever in the world I am through typical wireless or wired connections. The advantage is it would be light as hell, being that it'd need a bare minimum of hardware / software to run. Being that it has less working parts, you would be able to squeeze exponentially more time out of the battery. Finally, like cloud-computing, all your files are now centrally located on one home PC instead of duplicating software / files between one's laptop and desktop.

Online song trimming website
I know there are a ton of downloadable applications that can trim songs, but without installing anything, it'd be cool if I could just go to a website and trim a song to the part I want, then click "download" so I can use it as a ringtone or windows sound effect etc.

Honeymoon plans for western Italy
I'm getting married in October. We're looking to have our honeymoon on the western coast near Naples. We'd like to somehow incorporate Capri, Mt. Vesuvius and possibly even the Amalfi Coast somehow. I'm looking for input or ideas from anyone who has experience in that region, maybe some ideas on how to plan it, where to stay, where to visit? Should we plan it ourselves or get help from an agent?
